Why we believe every young person deserves financial confidence
Wild Venture began in 2019 when we noticed a troubling pattern: bright, capable teenagers leaving school with no practical understanding of money. They could solve quadratic equations but didn't know how overdrafts worked.
The idea emerged from a simple question: what if we could teach financial literacy the way we teach sports or music—through practice, repetition, and real application?
Financial stress affects families across every income bracket. Poor money habits formed in youth compound over decades, creating unnecessary hardship.
We're not here to turn children into investors or accountants. Our goal is simpler: give them the skills to make informed decisions, avoid common pitfalls, and feel confident rather than anxious when money comes up.
That foundation changes everything.
A small team with backgrounds in education, finance, and child development.
Founder & Lead Educator
Former secondary school teacher with a background in economics. Spent eight years watching students struggle with concepts that were never properly explained.
Curriculum Designer
Worked in financial services for twelve years before transitioning to education. Believes financial literacy should be accessible, not intimidating.
Workshop Facilitator
Child psychologist who understands how young people learn best. Designs activities that make abstract concepts tangible and memorable.
Financial education shouldn't feel like punishment or homework. We avoid lectures and worksheets in favour of discussions, games, and challenges.
Every session is designed around a core principle: if it's not relevant to their lives right now, they won't retain it. So we start with their reality—pocket money, part-time jobs, online purchases—and build from there.

Our long-term vision is to make financial literacy a standard part of growing up in Scotland. We're expanding our school partnerships, developing online resources for families outside Edinburgh, and piloting new programmes for specific communities.
We're still small, and that's intentional. Growth matters less than impact. Every programme we run is refined based on feedback, observation, and outcomes.
